## Note on third-party works

The characters, place names, and narrative text in this project are original.

The *gameplay mechanics* take inspiration from several commercial JRPGs —
the action-order and toughness-break systems of Honkai: Star Rail, the status
ailments and weaknesses of the Persona series, the turn-manipulation crafts of
the Trails series, the fast combo play of the Ys series, and the item
synthesis of the Atelier series.

No assets, code, text, or data from those works are used here. The systems are
reimplemented from scratch as original code, which is what makes this usable as
a template.

## Bundled third-party binaries

`desktop/webview2-sdk/` contains the Microsoft WebView2 managed assemblies
(`Microsoft.Web.WebView2.Core.dll`, `Microsoft.Web.WebView2.WinForms.dll`,
`WebView2Loader.dll`, `WebView2Loader_x86.dll`) and Microsoft's own license
text in `desktop/webview2-sdk/LICENSE.txt`.

They are redistributed unmodified under that license so that
`build-desktop.bat` can compile the native window launcher offline, with no
.NET SDK, no NuGet restore, and no network access. They are the only files in
this repository that are not original work, and they are not required to play
the game — `start.bat --console` runs everything without them.
